Estatua de coloresThe first news of these remains date back to 1758 when Fray Juan de Santa Gertrudis visited the site, but only up to 1913 were investigated scientifically by the German archaeologist K. T. Preuss. Since then they have been permanent research highlighting the work of José Pérez de Barradas in 1936, Gerardo Reichel Dolmatof in 1966 and Luis Duque Gómez from 1943 until today.

The researcher Luis Duque Gomez says that this place was sacred site, a center with a wide range of people from where they came afar to bury their dead and worship their gods.

 

 

St. Augustine was officially founded with the permission of the Royal Audiencia in Santa Fe de Bogota by decree 024 on April 8, 1926, naming as the first mayor Jose Maria Burbano Argote Narino home.

The project has a nice balance of legacy development from well-known coders such as Andrew Eddie or some young guns like Johan Janssens and Louis Landry. This dynamic trio has been commissioned in the project by bringing in new talent.
